Tiny House Update: I finished the roof on the perg Tiny House Update: I finished the roof on the pergola last weekend, so we officially have a covered porch!! 🙌🏻 I can’t emphasize how amazing it is to walk onto a large surface in-line with the floor of the tiny house..it feels like an extension of the space but also just makes it so much easier bringing food and stuff in and out. It doesn’t look half bad either and the addition of the wood really warms up our stark scandi little house 🏡 What a Summer and Fall it’s been, not to mention the last 1.5 years realizing this dream 🥰🙏🏻 More on that in posts to come!! #tinyhouse #tinyhouseonwheels #scandihouse #ourscandihouse #tinycottage
Tiny House Update: Over the past couple of weekend Tiny House Update: Over the past couple of weekends, we have added some wood to the front of our little abode! ☺️ A 16x8 deck with soon-to-be roofed pergola!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 The addition of this covered outdoor space will serve many purposes: shade some of that magnificent sun coming through our big living room window, keep the weather away from the front door, cover the front three tires, give us a dry place to sit in the rain, a seamless transition walking in/out of the tiny house and just a lovely place to sit and take in the view ☀️🌊😎 We are finishing the roof this weekend, so we look forward to sharing that progress with you!! #ourscandihouse #tinyscandihouse #scandihouse #tinyhouse #tinyhouseonwheels
Fall update at the Tiny House: Dark, cool nights o Fall update at the Tiny House: Dark, cool nights outside and warm by the fire inside (24 degrees!) 🔥 I absolutely love seeing the house glow from the outside in the evening 😍 And waking up in the morning realizing it’s still 18 degrees is incredible 🙌🏻 We insulated well 😉 We are enjoying the new season up here and have one more outdoor project before the winter!! 🍁💪🏻🧰🔨☀️ #ourscandihouse #tinyhouse #tinyhouseonwheels #scandi #scandihome
Tiny House Update: The last time we visited our li Tiny House Update: The last time we visited our little cottage we took a big step forward in the world of electricity! ⚡️ Although we’ve had solar since day 2, we have only had one circuit working. After learning a lot about our initial wiring and what was left to do, our saviour electrician came to the rescue and got us totally up and running! All ✋🏻 circuits!! Because of this, I could finally build our 1.5” tall bed frame 😂 and to house the electrical wiring for the kitchen pot lights 🙌🏻 I don’t have one shot all of all kitchen pot lights together but the important thing is: it’s all working. Not to mention, we also got our exterior outlet installed and put in our ceiling fan. It was probably our last time in the water this season, but we took advantage of that ☀️ Next time we are up, I will do a detailed video walkthrough ☺️ Bye for now 👋🏻#tinyhouse #tinyhouseonwheels #scandihouse #ourscandihouse
Tiny House Update: Wow! It’s been a month since Tiny House Update: Wow! It’s been a month since we last updated you on the progress at the tiny…cottage! We’ve been up twice, once for a day to get a retractable screen door installed (yaaaay!!) and curtains and a blind hung as well. These two measures were key to getting a better breeze through the house and also keeping the sun out and heat down during the day 🙌🏻 We also added an indoor garden box on the edge of our loft and filled it with water loving plants! 🌱🪴 And last weekend we did so many little-but-essential projects including: crafting a sliding door for our bathroom; making a landing at the top of the stairs; put up some coat and hat hooks; adding toe kicks in the kitchen and to the vertical spaces on either side of the sink cabinet; a rod in the kitchen to hang utensils and paper towels from; a magnetic knife rack; modifying our composting toilet and some green electrical work too! 😅 What’s proving to be the trickiest job is building stairs over the rocks down to the water. Wish us luck to complete this by Fall! 🍃😂🍁 #tinyhouse #tinyhouseonwheels #scandihouse #ourscandihouse #tinycottage
Tiny House Update - Part 2: So here is a little to Tiny House Update - Part 2: So here is a little tour of the interior of the tiny house! We did a lot of interior work this weekend (as you can see from our ‘Part 1’ post) including brining our new couch up, so the feeling in our little space is quickly evolving ✨ Next time we are up we are hoping to install the fresh water tank, the walkway railing and install an outdoor shower using our old fresh water tank! Then we will connect that to an eavestrough to collect rain water 💧 As for the outdoors, we are currently trying to install stairs down the water over lots of rocks - not an easy task but I’m glad the stringers are down there and the project is underway 😅 No shortage of things to do so we’ll keep updating you on here 📸🎥🍿 #ourscandihouse #scandihouse #tinyhouse #tinyhouseonwheels
